I've been going around picking up random pieces of clothing and bits of weapons and trying to equip my humanoid companion to no avail. I put the armor/weapon in their inventory and they don't equip it.

What am I doing wrong?

C'mon, guys. I don't know how to change companion clothing and weapons. I'm gonna keep bumping.

Threatening to continuously bump your thread is not the best way to get answers and may attract negative attention.

On topic, I don't have a clear answer for you, but are you sure what you're trying to put on your companion has a higher damage/ DT and is in higher condition? That may be it. Or maybe it's impossible. :shrug:

It could be like FO1/2 where they will use the items you give them, but their appearance doesn't change. IDK.

I haven't tried giving Boone anything and so far, he's the only companion I have besides ED-E.

He won't wear it unless it is better than his default stuff? Ahh...

It's not good being a fashionista.
