Voice echo bug

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:31 am

After the latest patch, some of the voices in-game began to have an echo-ish quality that they did not have before. I've never seen this issue in this game before, so I know it has to be related to the patch. Any ideas on possible causes and/or fixes?

Edit: More specifically, only the voices in an active conversation are affected. Comments made passively out of conversations aren't affected, and sound normal. It's not stopping me from playing, but it's very annoying and ruining the immersion terribly.

I'm also wondering if anyone else is having this issue, or if it is just me. I can't seem to find any information relating to this anywhere.

I am also having this problem, exactly how you have described it. Maybe it has something to do with having a dedicated sound card?

I'm looking for a solution too. When I'm outside or inside and have a conversation there is enough reverb to feel like their speaking inside a small box. I have a Xonar without gaming mode enabled. It doesn't kill the game, but it bothers me enough that I'm looking for a solution.
