Customizing the Map Using DarNified UI

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 7:47 am

I've been looking for an explanation for the in-game map menu for DarNified UI without much of a result. Is it possible to use that to make map markers for cities and the like to only be visible on your map and compass after you've already been there or someone has marked your map for you? I know disabling "visited" gets rid of all the map markers, but I've found that they don't appear upon visiting the locations. Is this possible through DarNified, or will a need a separate mod for this? Thanks for any help I receive.

I do not think that this is within the scope of DarNified UI. I use the Map-Marker-Overhaul mod, it allows you to configure not only which icons appear on the map, but also the distance at which they get marked on your map. In addition to the mod linked above, I find the map marker filter component of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22163 very useful.

Thank you both, but neither are close to what I was looking for. I was referring to how there are map markers already on the map for all the cities when you start the game. Is there any way to hide those markers until you actually visit the locations? Neither of the mods suggested do this, and I'm starting to think that DarNified UI doesn't do it either.

MMO does have an option to hide all markers in a new game, you have to set it in its .ini file.

Ah, thanks for the tip; the readme didn't explicit state this as an option, so I didn't think to check.

@Aloyse: My apologizes for not believing you; the mod's description and my attempts to see this in-game were unsuccessful before changing the .ini.
