Launcher Crashes right after running

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:34 pm

I can get into the game if I'm quick enough to hit play before it does, but regardless, even the launcher of this game is so buggy, it cannot run for more than a split second.

I thought this game, being based on the fallout 3 platform (and how very smooth it was) would be rock solid, so I bought it without hesitation after completing fallout 3. Now I regret it. What ever happened to actually Beta testing a game before you launch it, rather than making your customers fork out $60 for a game that is NOT COMPLETED??!! Where's my REFUND for the time it is going to take for the developer to finally finish what they took on the task of creating, and what I spent my HARD EARNED MONEY on in the (obviously vain) hope of being able to sit down after work and enjoy a nice game?

This game is very quickly earning a spot up next to Failcom's Age of Conan.

I second the first sentence of Andrew's post and no further; and I must redact that first line also; everything on this game worked beautifully last time I ran it (which was according to steam, the middle of November). However, what caused this problem (I THINK) is, I deleted all the save games directly from the NV folder, wishing to start a new game.

My computer: an Intel core i5, 3.2GHz. 8GB RAM, 1TB HD. Geforce 8800GT; the launcher just crashes with no opportunity to get in unless there's a delay like Andrew said. Obviously something changed in the Launcher setup between November and now; what was it and how can it be reversed? (Note that deleting the Settings files in the root of Users\my username\My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV worked to let the game run again, but when I exited and went back in, the launcher crashed.)

Please help! Thanks :)
