I don't know for sure, but if you are concerned, there is a peaceful solution to that quest that doesn't involve killing anyone...

But I just want to kill Alice (for Cass), because of her contract with the van Graffs about what to
do with competition.

Oh sorry, I could have been clearer but I would never have guessed from your posts that you weren't a native English speaker - 'playing matchmaker' is an old fashioned term meaning that you see a girl and boy like each other but maybe they are too shy to say anything to the other, and you somehow organise so they meet up or go on a date - you are bringing together (or "matching up") two people who might be a potential couple. I hope my explanation doesn't cause more confusion!
