Question regarding Pre-order DLC Packs

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:00 am

There are 4 pre-order packs (Mercenary, Caravan, Tribal & Classic)

Are these items exclusive to these packs or can you get them in-game?

The reason i ask is because of the insane prices these packs are selling for on ebay. That is just ridiculous.

I'm getting the Classic pack but am now considering whether to download it or not, as one poster has indicated that it could cause some problems. Anyone else had experience of this?

By the way they're preorder codes only, so you can't get them in game.

They're exclusive to the pack.

And I assume they're pretty useless. Basically a couple of unique looking items magically added to your inventory at the start of the game. I doubt they're worth buying, at any price. Especially if you're on PC.

Far from useless. Weathered 10mm is the best pistol I've found aside from That Gun. And the Canteen is basically overpowered on hardcoe, since it heals you every 5 minutes.

And yes, the preorder DLC seems to be the major issue for crashing/freezing. If you get the Xbox version, be sure to install it to the HD if you can. A lot of bugs seem to disappear when you do.

The precise items are exclusive, but they are really not better than stuff you could find two to three hours into the game, and they are only variants of items that are already present in the normal game.

So in this entire game there is no other way to get a canteen, pair of binoculars, grenade rifle, etc... other than to download these 4 packs?

Okay, so they're basically cheat items with a unique look. ;)

Binoculars are not exclusive to the packs, but most of the other items are.

Canteen is exclusive to the DLC, I believe.

I found a pair of steal-able binoculars in the Mojave Outpost.

In-game there is a Caravan Shotgun, though imho the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun (Caravan Pack) is far better than it.

Throwing Spears (Tribal pack) are in-game; found quite a few of them on Legionnaires.

No clue about the grenade rifle.

Not just grenade rifles. I saw grenade machine guns at the Gun Runners last night!

Found a pair of binoculars sitting on a 2nd floor ledge on the front of Bison Steve's, you can also steal some at the Mojave post.

Grenade rifles and Caravan shotguns start showing up around level 6.
