Received Wrong Pre-Order Pack

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:55 pm

I went against my better judgement and pre-ordered Fallout New Vegas from Walmart in hopes of getting the Caravan Pack. When I received the game yesterday, I was shocked to see the Mercenary Pack in my game instead. I chose my retailer specifically for this item pack and now I'm upset with my order. I looked around via Google and found I'm not the only person to have been shipped the wrong promo pack. How do I go about remedying this situation in a timely manner? I've already e-mailed Bethesda but I've yet to hear back... I'd be more than willing to trade-in my pack directly to Bethesda or Walmart for the replacement.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

depends on if you opened it. if you did, sorry but theres very little chance that you can make a return. if you haven't opened it, good luck, you'll need it because alot of retailers are very sensitive to claims as such as yours. thats because some people purchase the cheapest order and then claim that there has been a mix up, I am not suggesting you did this, but because of this you should expect to run in a circle for days if not weeks filling out forms and then starting the process over again.

To discover I received the wrong pack, I obviously had to open it. As far as the "cheapest," I preordered the Collector's edition which I believe is the same price everywhere. I'm willing to trade my key (with a picture should they request it) as well as a proof of purchace so that my claim can be verrified.

UPDATE: I heard back from Bethesda and was told to go through Walmart (of course).

"Hello,

Please contact Walmart as you purchased the product from them."

I don't see how it's Walmart's issue considering Bethesda shipped the wrong packs to Walmart in the first place; and therefore I was given the wrong pack.

I spent 93$ ordering the collectors edition, and am STILL waiting for it in the mail. I got the Classic pack (boo! :sadvaultboy:)
Because I got mine from Gamestop. I think it's better just to let it be.

I would suggest next time to pre order in store, snail mail svcks. That way you can take it up with the manager. I prefer Best Buy or Gamestop.

I preordered from Walmart over the weekend and I got my game today with the correct pack.

I contacted Amazon for mine, and THEY told me to ask Bethesda.

It really should come from Bethesda... not for nothing, but they made a HUGE deal about pre-order location determining bonus pack...
