Is survival necessary for hardcoe mode, or would another skill be more useful?

Survival is not necessary, and really feels like a waste of skill points. You'll find enough food out in the Wasteland that it's not needed.

Guns and repair are my usuals, I just cannot decide on the third. Leaning more toward medicine.
