Whats up with the reviews being rigged?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:43 am

I just noticed the other day that Gamespot.com took down their review of Fallout New: Vegas because of the low score. Now they have the review back up still with the same review score. I just noticed on metacritic that Gamespot's score should be a 75 not and 85 like they have it. This game deserves a 100 out of my book. Bethesda must really thing gamers are that dumb.

Gamespot's review is true. However, once all the bugs are fixed it will be a solid 8.
There's no way the vanilla game could be considered a 10/10, MAYBE fallout 4 will be thanks to the new engine.

they gave the ps3/xbox360 a -75%
they gave pc a -85% (for obvious reasons)

I don't think mod-ability should come into play in a review, to be honest.
I also think it was hypocritical to ignore the bugs in Fallout 3 when they reviewed it, but be so picky about it now.
Some people say that NV is way buggier than F3. This has not been my experience. People may forget how buggy F3 was on release. Still, on 360, I find that F3 is buggier now than NV is now. Hopefully, patches for all, but especially PC users with hardware issues, will be on the way.

So really, I don't think the review is rigged- it should have been changed.

I love both of these companies to death. But Obsidian pissed me off with all the hardware problem and other bugs. It's not like they HAD TO MAKE A WHOLE GAME ENGINE FROM SCRATCH or anything. I never had any problems with Fallout 3 when it came out on games for windows live. I dont understand how the gamebryo engine got worse.

It wasn't just due to mods. it runs alot better, according to them. Other reviews have also said PC one is better.

That's odd, because many of the bugs I've heard about were on PC version, though a lot of it has to do with what sort of graphics card etc you have.
I suppose if you have a really good PC it will be the most stable version- I've also heard of PC users with no bugs whatsoever.
But then there are the stories of the steam cloud issue, the framerate lag when looking at NPCs, and more. If your PC isn't up to snuff New Vegas will be extremely glitchy and crash all the time.

Running a pc I paid $460. for back in January of this year.
Running the game on *high* settings.
Played 35-36 hours or so.I get one crash every 5-7 hours...just have to restart the game.No windows crashes...yet..

Found the steamcloud issue and was able to work around it .Man...they really need a big popup box like they used to have...*do you want to restore your saves to the last steam back up?*Or just set it to where it will not overwrite files, just add them back if you lose them.Anyway...im sure its being looked at.

Been having a ball with the game....broke down and bought the guide today.*sighs*Too much crammed into the game.
