More stable? Debatable. Some people have had good experiences with both versions, so no one can say for sure. And if they try then they are... not smart.

Latest patch is 1.2.0.352

There are a few fixing mods but nothing like the unofficial patches.

With the pc verson you can patch the game the way you like with mods. You can also mod the game itself to be less buggy. I have an older computer and it runs great. As for xbox's I've watched a few walkthroughs for xbox's that have had loading times and it was long. That being said not all xbox 360's have the same gpu. If you can put this game on a 360 hardrive it might improve loading times. That being said it should work fine on the xbox 360 also.

They made CPU & GPU smaller with every revision to reduce cost & heat. Speed and functionally are the same between the newest Xbox and the oldest.

I played on both, I had more issues with the pc versions but I just friggen love the "Fellout" mod.
