Getting 28 Perks on the 360 version

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:27 am

This is a little tutorial on getting 28 perks for your character, or getting perks that you don't have the requirements for, like the barter perks. Start a new game with your SPECIALS set to what perks you would want but don't have room in your build for. Tag Speech and exit Doc's house and get to the part where you can side with Joe Cobb. Next kill Ringo for Joe then return to Joe and tell him its done. Joe will tell you to try and get supplies, kill Joe and the Powder Gangers. Next go to the store and keep passing the speech check (Which never goes away) until you've ranked up to 30 (If you want 28 perks) or to whatever level you would like to get perks in. All perks you choose except your level 2 and 4 perks, you will keep. Now head south out of Good-springs. You'll be prompted to change your characters stats, do so. Pick whatever SPECIALS you originally wanted and the perks you would've taken. This is were the trick comes into play. All perks you chose except the level 2 and 4 perks while in Good-springs, you still have. This is good for grabbing the Barter perks without even investing in Barter with your final build. Also a good way to grab all of the melee/unarmed perks if your only focusing on one, or like stated before to achieve 28 perks. I really see no reason you would need 28 perks, but here is the guide to achieve it... NOTE that you will have to choose your level 2 and 4 perks again since they don't save when doing this trick. You can use this to your advantage though by choosing swift learner twice while in Good-springs, allowing you to rank up faster with the speech challenge.

Wow. If you're going to do all that, you'd be better off just watching YouTube videos of people playing the game. Where's the fun in this?

But you don't get level?

No, you will be at whatever level you left Good-springs at, minus your level 2 and 4 perks. For some reason they disappear, so you will have to grab them again once exiting GS.
