There don't seem to be consequences to being crippled.

I've only been playing for a bit, but I hit a couple of land mines and got my limbs crippled. One leg and one arm are completely stuffed, the other arm and leg are at about 50%. But if it weren't for the little "You've been crippled, find a doctor..." blurb I literally wouldn't notice. I'm not gimping, I can run as fast as I did before, and there is only a little swaying when I aim my gun. What gives?

I always looked at F3 and wondered why they even bothered with crippled limbs because they were so easy to heal with stimpaks, so I was excited to hear that wouldn't be the case with NV on hardcoe. But they've gone one better and apparently removed any effect of being crippled at all. Is it just me? Am I missing something? Admittedly I haven't been in a fight since being crippled so I don't know really how much my aim is off, but I'm definitely not gimping. Anyone else noticed this?

Thanks.

Legs make you walk slower, even if it is minor. Arms hurt your aim, the % effect on the actual hidden dice rolls or what-have-you I don't know though. Head injuries make your vision go all blurry.

Anything but head is pretty easy to just deal with until you can get to a doctor though, yes. I have like 11 doctor bags in my inventory because I don't really need to use them.

That's what I would have expected but I'm noting getting any of that. Do you get that limping animation that you did in F3? I'm definitely not getting that AND I'm running just as fast.

Since I started my hardcoe playthough, I've actually come to apreciate how debilatating a damaged limb can be. Low on ammo, a broken leg, a broken arm, and no doctor bags make even a run into 3 or 4 powder gangers an intense gun fight for me.

Yes...the limping animation does come into play. The blurred vision is a kick in the head.Crippled arms have reduced my accuracy.
Are you on hardcoe?Things may be dumbed down on normal mode I dunno.

when your legs are crippled (even just one) you cant move side to side very well. i have noticed a lot of change when being crippled even the blured vision is more frequent in NV then FO3. I am playing on hardcoe mode as well try turning the game off and then on to see if you are crippled maybe it just didnt register.

I stupidly ran out into the Mojave eager to explore carrying 1 shotgun, a ridiculously small amount of ammo, 4 stimpaks, and 2 bottles of dirty water (where do you get a canteen?), I ran into some camp around dusk, barely managed to shoot a couple of hostiles cos if I hadn't they'd have finished me off, and then stepped on a mine that I didn't spot in the dark - to paraphrase a well known quote, "that ended my trip real quick" and I staggered what seemed like an awful long way back to town dehydrated and crippled.

Loving it :)
