Can you install from the disc? : Fallout: New Vegas

Hey,

I've been following https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5357-FSQM-0382 instructions to install from the disc, however it doesn't appear to be working. No dialog box appears prompting me to install from the CD.

Is it possible to install from the disc?

It is possible, I'm doing it right now. You're sure you have all the paths to Steam and your disc right?

Yup, they're correct. Only thing I had to change was the disc drive letter. I've had it work before with other games, but for some reason this is just opening Steam again and taking me to the store homepage.

EDIT:

I think it's working now. I just right-clicked the disc and selected "Install".
