Crash During Credits

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:08 am

When I'm watching the ending dialogue, it often crashes. It just crashes saying "Fallout: New Vegas has stopped working." I do have the data file that makes it so I can continue playing after beating the main quest line and a data file that weakens the cazadores, but I doubt that they would cause the game to crash. Any help is appreciated.

Same problem for me with no data files.
I always stick vanilla first playthough... though, there are literally hundreds of fixes that I'd have appreciated.
Sure would have liked to see what happened following the battle, but it keeps crashing just after talking about me and my role.
Then it switches over to talk about Rhonda and Tabitha and *crash'n'burn*.
Tried three times with no luck.

Count yourself lucky you got to see at least some of the ending. I've only played 2hrs worth and had 6+ hard lock crashes! This games is absolutely rank!

Well, I guess there is that.
But you aren't missing that much.
Probably better to wait to play the game when it's functional and mostly working properly.

Going through the game with people having floating arms and hands and floating mountains and trees because of poor modeling and bad placement of environmental clutter..
Invisible walls, vanishing NPCs, broken companions, broken quests, etc.
Probably would've been a better experience if they'd thought to beta test their game before putting it out.

I have to say with all the bugs in this game I'm thoroughly disappointed, and that they shouldn't have rushed this release (I don't know if they did or didn't, but it sure seems like they did.) I could've easily waited another couple months for a game that's a bit more polished.

I had to repeat the ending of the game about 4 times, crashing at different points each time (Rose's fate, Lily's fate, Rex's fate). Then it crashed right when it got to the Zenimax portion of the credits. I could see this happening during a particularly processor-intensive moment, but during the CREDITS?!

48 hours which could've been spent doing more important things (ie: cleaning my apartment) were blown on this game. I would say at least 25% of that was spent replaying sections due to bugs and crashes.

I'm having the same issue. Windows 7 64 bit os if that's helpful and an ATI 3650 graphics card. Game played fine until the end credits. It does crash randomly during play but it's not so often that it really bothers me. If it does happen it seems to be sound related. The catradaurs or whatever those flying insects that poison you are called seem to cause an issue. You can hear the attack/poison sound well before you see them and if they do happen to poison you, it's very common for the game to crash if the poison sound keeps triggering.

I avoid that problem by killing them before they can touch me and using anti venom quickly when they do poison me. If I do that, it rarely crashes.

Anyway, I thought that might be related to the other crash since there are a lot of different sound files that are loaded for the ending credits. It never crashes on the first part of the credits but rather goes through four to five parts of it before crashing. It never makes it to six though. It normally crashes when talking about the fate of the super mutants or right after Raul/BoS.

It seems to crash towards the middle of these suggesting that there might be some kind of caching or spooling error. I don't know... That's where it crashes.
