I may be purchasing an Alienware M15x sometime in the near future and I'd like to know how it will play New Vegas.

Here's what I'm going to set it up like:

Processor: Intel? Core? i7 740QM Quad Core Processor, 1.73GHz (2.93GHz Turbo Mode, 6M Cache)
Operating System: Genuine Windows? 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
Memory: 6GB Memory (1x 2GB, 1x 4GB DDR3)
Video Card: 1.5GB GDDR5 65W NVIDIA? GeForce? GTX 460M
Hard Drive: 500GB SATAII 7,200RPM

Will I be able to play on Max Settings? About how much FPS should I expect to get?

It would be more than adequate. Please do some price checks with Asus,MSI, or XoticPC models though....very similar hardware config, but I'm willing to bet it will be cheaper. Alienware is notorious for being ridiculously overpriced.

Yeah, they're very expensive, the one I'm looking into getting is going to be about $2,000, but I really have nothing better to get and besides Alienware produces the coolest gaming PCs/Laptops in the industry.

So, based on those settings do you think I could be getting around 35 or more FPS?

You'll probably be able to pull pretty decent fps with it BUT...

the links I gave you are better to get than anything from Alienware. Don't buy something simply because it looks cool...no offense, but that kind of thinking is what I would expect from a mindless Apple fan. The notebooks I linked either have for the most part the same hardware or slightly better....Alienware is just giving you a logo...a really expensive one. $2K for that is highway robbery. That is what you should be looking at.

If you want 6 gb memory, dont mismatch the sticks. Use three 2 gb sticks instead of one 2 and one 4.
