Question about Marcus, Jacobstown, Tabitha and Utobita epilo

So I finally completed the NCR side of the game doing a variety of questlines and got an almost completely satisfactory ending, but for some reason one slide in the epilogue really bothers me. I cut a bloody swathe up over Black Mountain and gave Tabitha a facefull of plasma, mostly because I was laboring under the false idea that I could loot her sunglasses-and-wig combo and force Boone to wear it. In Jacobstown, I helped Dr. Henry test the Stealth Boy MKII and convinced Keene to stand down, so I got a very good ending there. But here are my two questions:

One: I didn't think it was possible but I did hear someone mention it- was it at all possible to have Marcus' or Keene's super mutants help me in the battle for hoover dam. Was there an option for that that I missed?

Two: The ending slide for Black Mountain was surprisingly depressing. It says that many super mutants went there, only to find it empty, and then wandered the wasteland confused and disappointed. Had I not killed Tabitha, would there have been a better alternative?

I don't have an answer for number One, but for number Two I do.

During the quest for Black Mountain, if you passed a speech check with Marcus and he didn't die throughout the quest, he would stay at Black Mountain and redirect any approaching super mutants towards Jacobstown. If you did pass a speech check with Marcus at the beginning and he helped you, I can only guess he died during the quest.
Hope I helped.

How do you get Marcus to help you? If you have to get the quest for Black Mountain, then go to Jacobstown and talk to him, I'll bet most people didn't get his help just because they went straight up the mountain and stomped the place.

I think he means "Neil" instead of "Marcus". I did pass the speech check, but I guess he did die on the assault. Pity, I didn't know I was supposed to protect him.

In that case, something went wonky with my ending, because Neil is standing alive at Black Mountain and I got the same ending slide as MP.

Its most likely because you killed Tabitha. The good karma way to finish that quest is not killing her(him?)

Same thing for me, Neil still very alive, and the radio station shut down, but I still got the slide where mutants kept coming to Black Mountain and leaving frustrated and confused.

I got a slide where the mutants would come to black mountain, and Neil would redirect them to Jacobstown. Oh and yes, there is a peaceful way to solve the quest. I have yet to do it though. You have to repair the robot inside the warehouse type building, and you can then talk to Tabitha peacefully.

That's the best motivation for anything ever.

Two: The ending slide for Black Mountain was surprisingly depressing. It says that many super mutants went there, only to find it empty, and then wandered the wasteland confused and disappointed. Had I not killed Tabitha, would there have been a better alternative?

There's a happier alternative. Repair best friend Rhonda and he and an overjoyed Tabitha embark on a series of epic adventures that become a popular children's story series. The end slide is priceless.

I let Tabitha alone, because I like her show.
