Killed House, Yes Man, Caesar: no main quest now available.

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:48 am

Hi all,

I've been siding with the NCR all the way through my campaign. Due to becoming a little bored after 70 odd hours of playing I've gone and wasted all Legion folk at The Fort, killed Mr House, blown up the Brotherhood bunker, and decided I didn't like Yes Man so shot his cheeky little face off.

Unfortunately, in doing all of this, I seem to have reached a point where there are no more possible main quest paths left. I assumed the NCR would be quite pleased and want to continue using my services but I can't find anyone to give me another main quest mission. I cannot find the main lady (can't remember name) at the Hoover Dam, who I thought would be the obvious point of contact after killing all the nasty folk.

I got most of the way through the House Always Wins missions, Wild Card missions, and have saved the President from assassination.

Has my killing spree screwed any chance of completing the game?

Suggestions welcome.

Lol. xD
Did you get "Things That Go Boom"? I think that's your only route to finish the game.

You can't kill Yes Man. He comes back.

NCR route is done via Ambassador Crocker at the Embassy.

Yes Man is not kill-able, if you kill him in Bennys suite he respawns outside The Tops.

Thanks people, just found Yes Man respawned.

No sign of the Ambassador though, so looks like I'll have to go with Yes Man despite my NCR tendencies

The ambassador does not appear (nor does the Colonel at the Dam) until you get the "For the Republic, Part 2" quest. The only way I have gotten that quest is to talk to House after finishing "For the Republic, Part 1"

That would create quite a paradox, as the ambassador is the one who gives you For the Republic, Part 1. You can't start it without meeting him, so finishing it without meeting him is right out.

Though "Part 1" doesn't actually exist by that name. It's the series of quests that you get from Crocker before you see Moore, who gives you part 2.

I've always had an NCR trooper meet me on the strip and hand me an invitation from Crocker - this is usually after I speak with House for the first time, or possibly after offing Benny.

I get it after speaking to House the first time. After offing Benny is when I got (in my second game) Caesar's invitation.

If you've already saved the Prez from assassination, you're stuck on the Wild Card route. You need to break off from that prior to finishing House's second or third mission - it's the mission that, upon completion, you get a slew of 'you've failed this quest' warnings.
