Yes man, NCR and "dont thread on the bear"

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:33 am

So I took out Mr House and installed Yes man. Imidiatly (sp?) I got a message "Dont thread on the bear" "NCR wont give missions".
Hey this means that I cant:
1 Let NCR win the game?
2 Do missions for local commanders like Hoy?
3 NCR will start sending hit squads?
4 All above ??????

BTW how long can I wait with putting Yes Man in charge?
Is there a point when House is fully in control of his..."house" heh?

I think the 'don't thread on the bear' starts as a warning that if you keep working against the NCR
you won't be able to do anymore quests for them, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, it's just to inform you that if you continue on that path, they will get upsett. As long as you have good rep with the NCR, then you can still do the quests they provide. And no, they will not send anyone to hunt you down.

Thanks that seems to be correct. I just got a new set of quests from a local commander and no hit-squads in sigth.

I enjoy helping the people of NCR, I just dont think its in theire best interest to spread this far east.
I will offer an alliance once I taken over Vegas.

There is a point where if you continue going down a certain path for one "faction", you will fail the opposing faction's similar questline, in fact I think it's the very next quest you do in the path after you get the first warning, so yes, if you continue, you will be blocked out of the main path questline for the NCR/those quests will fail and they can't "win."
The sidequests I'm not so sure about...you may still be able to do most of those.
