CTD when opening containers.

Thread title says it all. Whenever I open a container the game CTDs. It doesn't always happen with the first container, but it does if I open a few more.

This is a new game and I've disabled all mods to see if they were the culprits. It still happens with all mods disabled. The game does not lag at all and my PC isn't running exceptionally hot or anything so I don't believe it's a hardware issue.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know what might be causing this? Thank you.

edit: Nevermind, I just did some more playing around and testing and now I'm getting general crashes (entering buildings, just being outside, etc). I even tried choosing "Low" graphics settings and lowered the resolution and the game wouldn't start at all. What the hell?

Well, I tried reinstalling the game twice.

The problem remained where the game would randomly CTD after leaving Doc Mitchell's house and spending a few minutes outside. But I seem to have fixed the problem by playing in windowed mode. Does anyone know why the game would work as a window but not in full screen? I didn't start getting this problem until I switched my old 4:3 monitor out for a 16:9.

Does New Vegas not like widescreens?

Since you just upgraded your monitor, you might need to install monitor drivers.

Post your dxdiag.

[edit - I have played new vegas exclusively in widescreen]
