Hello folks, got a problem with my hard earned faction reputations suddenly disappearing. One minute I am idolized by the NCR masses, next they never heard of me; likewise Great Khans and the BoS, and Ceasars Legion forget all the twits with brooms on their heads I done shot and the Powder Gangers say meh when they meet the feller they regarded as a one man apocalypse just the day before. Is this supposed to happen for some reason? For some reason place reps are not affected - Goodsprings and Novac still love me (though the folk of Primm never seem to give a hoot one way or another, which I know is a bug, but one that I thought was supposed to be patched...) Is it a save game bug? I know how to go through the rigmarole of resetting them through the console, but I'd rather it not happen in the first place.

There appear to be a few bugs that cause this to happen, altho I personally don't know the actual causes in most cases...it can seem rather random but I think it's often related to wearing faction armor (the disguise effect never comes off/sets things to neutral or hostile even if you stop wearing the armor). One known specific item was the White Glove Society mask (or all the WG clothing maybe) - no clue if it was supposed to be/has been fixed in one of the patches. Have you worn that recently? Or any faction armor?

Edit: the white mask one has no fix, but sometimes if you're lucky the generic faction armor ones can be.

Thanks for that. It wasn't a bug, it was me being a dimmock - I was wearing Ranger armour, so of course all the faction reps went out the window because the fact I was togged out as an NCR took precedence. Take off the NCR gear, my reps are back to normal. Should have realised, but what would have been nice, oh game designers, would be notes in the Reps screen to denote how people will feel about you in your current gear.
