Question if this sort of mod exists

Okay, well it has been quite awhile since I last played Oblivion, mainly for the fact I hate the main story more than life itself. However, what I do love about the game is freedom to say "[censored] the main quest" and spend 150 hours longer on side quests which offer more rewarding stories. This being said, the other thing that keeps me from playing Oblivion is the level-up system which relies on you purposely sitting against a wall leveling each minor skill up (which happen to contain all the skills you actually use) one at a time, so when you level you get the best possible stats and don't die later in the game.

I am wondering if there is a mod which overhauls how leveling is achieved in this game, where it doesn't rely (or entirely rely) on your skills to level you up. I don't feel like making a sneak character who breaks my game because all I do is sneak and he only ever gets minimals stats // skill increases before he's constantly dying at later levels. More or less something that might use some sort of 'experience' indicator or changes how the skills cause your character to level up.

Thanks for any replies.

There's a whole host of leveling mods out there, for example NGCD, Realistic Leveling, Wrye Leveling, Galerion Natural Leveling, Advanced Selective Leveling. There's a lot of different approaches, so you've got to chose the one that best suits you.

Which of those do you think would be suit what I am looking for? Being a more generic RPG leveling system, or whatever I could get being closest to that.

It's been a while since I checked them out, so I'm not sure if I remember this right.
Advanced selective leveling should be the one where you get experience by slaying monsters and you distribute skill points manually.
Wrye leveling requires you to buy skill points with gold.
Realistic Leveling, Galerion Natural Leveling and NGCD should all use the system of gaining skills by using them, but the associations between attributes have been changed so that a skill will be linked to several attributes.

I'm currently using NGCD, I've never used any of the others (that's the reason for the should's in the descriptions), so I cannot judge them. I've also forgotten to list several other mods like AF-leveling, KOBU, Smooth leveling.

Thanks alot guys. I found a couple which sound PERFECT and exactly what I want, so I can actually get back into Oblivion and enjoy it when it gets to higher levels.
Thanks again :)

I use a mod that just gives you +5 always when you level up.
