Time to blow away Ceaser....

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 6:59 am

Ok, this is my first time thru the game...
I am 23rd level. power armor, antimaterial rifle, the works.
I am travelling with ED-E and Cass,
because Boone just couldn't hold off on the killing long enough for me to
get the interview with Ceaser. (Idiot)

I just spoke to Ceaser and have confirmed that the evil dude is a tyrant in infantcy.
I believe that the sooner one wacks evil the better it is for the innocent people of world.
And, I am hopeing to save the NCR from going to war.
So, He MUST DIE... :flamethrower::flamed:

I saved before my 1st attempt and then tried to survive consiqunces of assasinating him with just a snuck in .357 pistol.
Sure, He died quick but fighting all his followers with just a pistol was suicide. (5 attempts in a row) but I got Very close to killing them all on my the last attempt. :foodndrink:

So I restarted the scenerio,
I just went down to the bunker with my platinum chip, and did the opposit that Scumbag Ceaser commanded,
by activating the bots.

I now have all my gear and weapons. and i have saved agian.
I can truthfully say "The dude and his scumbags are all DOOMED!" :nuke:

I say all thiat to ask these few questions...
1. Cass svcks as a fighter, is it possible to leave the bunker fast travel, pick up Boone, fast thravel back, and appear before Ceaser's tent?
2. If I flat line everyone in ceasar's whole camp, am I robbing myself of a greater ending?
3. Have I thwarted Ceasar's desires to distory the bunker, simply to empower a much worse tyrant (Mr. House) ?

1) If they're hostile, you won't be able to fast travel around them. If they're not hostile, you won't have your gear in the open. You'll need to leave the hard way, then come back.
2) No.
3) This part you can figure out for yourself.

well for 1... once you get your weapons back(might have to finish quest) you can fast travel to the fort as much as you like.

So you can warp there with boone and tell them to eat one when they ask for weapons, and kill everyone.

Not sure about other stuff.

Before turning over your weapons for a 2nd time you can shove them in that locker at the top of the stairs[put your combat chems in there to] and simply retrieve them after the guard is supposed to take your weapons away.

Leave him behind. You can not stop him from shooting at Legion. He even says it when you're entering Cottonwood Cove: "If I see red, I'm taking the shot. You got a problem with that?"

Maybe he will behave if he has zero weapons?
I really want to have him duke it out next to me in this battle...

Perhaps I can kill Ceasar, fight my way out,
switch out Cass for Boone, and return with him for the "Mop up"?

If Cass falls "unconcious" on the escape, can I leave her laying there and still recruite Boone?

You can only have one follower at a time. Just take Boone, go in the front door of the encampment and then tell the gaurds you will be keeping your stuff thank you very much. The rest will play out the way you want.

Killing Caesar doesn't affect the game in any way whatsoever, aside from the fact that you can no longer get quests from him.

I thought that was kind of disappointing, myself. You'll hear a radio announcement and a couple of NPCs will mention it, but other than that, it's as if it never happened.

You can convince Hanlon to stop manipulating reports if you've killed Caesar but thats the only significant change.

I fast traveled in with Boone and Rex.....killed everyone outdoors except the trader and slave girls, hauled the swag back to the lockers by the entrance, then went to Caesar's tent and put down Caesar and his butt-buddies. Took two trips to get the loot out.

I took Yes Man's endgame sequence, so of course Caesar had to die... Too bad all I got was his armor, his Displacer Glove, and everyone just mentions he's dead or I'm the one who did it. Boone was happy for once.

Spoiler
I remember it being explained at some point that he was just a figurehead, and that he was replaced as soon as he was found to have been killed.
But yeah, I was disappointed that there wasn't more to it than a bit of dialogue.

No i wasn't explained like that. In fact one character Marcus says The legion follows Caesar not his ideals once he's gone the legion will fall apart may take a few decades but it will be gone, Mr. House says something similar if you've killed Caesar, he says it won't effect the battle at the dam but the legion will probably begin to fall apart within a year.

Just wanted to mention that as far as I know, companions can never have "zero weapons." They will always have their default magical weapons ... Boone's endless ammo rifle and his machete, for instance. Thus he'll always attack Legion. :D

Glad you found the solution. I can't make myself roleplay for the Legion. Even if they're ideals are understandable, I just can't support their evil ways ;) Love watching Boone wipe the floor with their sports equipment clad butts. Even when I use other companions, I always grab him for those quests. haha!

If you have to have Boone or want to keep your bigger weapons, there's no way to start the killing inside Caesar's tent. The best you can do is fast travel to the encampment, refuse to hand over your weapons and start from there.
