Notice how you are payed 500 caps for killing 3 deathclaws in the arena?

Really easy way to make moneh, as there is no cool down on the creature spawns.

Have to collect all the eggs before you can fight deathclaws though.

By the time I was fighting deathclaws, 500 caps was pocket change and I had nothing to spend caps on anymore.

Now I know why the wasteland outside of Vegas is so poor.

You took all the money.

They should seriously rebalance money in this game.

I WANT MY CHARACTER TO STRUGGLE IN POVERTY. Playing a rich beyond imagination [censored] with always over 50k caps at hand seems so easy and lazy. I'd like for once to have to scrap every piece of food, water and ammo thinking twice if I should fire it or save for later. Everything is so common and abundant I wonder why humanity hasn't already rebuilt. It's a post-apocalyptic world - and ammo is easier to come by than in our world.

They failed big here in design - and they broke the immersion somehow. And don't tell me to play hardcoe, I have for a long while now and when you get used to Veronica dying - it becomes a joke not a survival game. :-)

Your mileage may vary, but that probably wouldn't be nearly as fun to play as it sounds. Videogames are power fantasies - who wants to pay $60 to be as poor as they are in real life?

Granted caps aren't hard to come by, I mean the Feinds are a cap producing plant practically. But, in my opinion (which has little value) it's exponentially better then FO3. There had been times when I wanted items from Gun Runners that I had to choose because I wasn't going to spend 95% of my stack on 2 guns, 3 mods, and a crap load of ammo.

I find it better than it was, it's not perfect, but as TES_Ronin said it probably would be very fun to have a poverty mode. There is something to be said about buy all the dino toys and tossig them allover.

It's no fun being broke in real life. It's a blast being a gun toting millionaire though. :foodndrink:

Well, to address the ammo point: Ammo is one of the few things still being produced on a large scale.

They oughta come up with a super-dooper hardcoe mode where having reliable weapons...or enough cartridges to fill a magazine...is a luxury that leads NPCs to accuse the player of being a latent homosixual. But some people still wouldn't be happy unless the devs force the rest of us to play that way too.
