Change Your Appearance

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:01 pm

In F3 we had the option to get plastic surgery later on in the game to change our appearance. Can anyone confirm if we will be able to change our appearance anywhere else in the game other than the 2nd chance they give you in the first town? I had the same issues with F3's character generator. It has horrible lighting, although New Vegas' is better, and you can't see you character from farther back.

I dont like the way my character's head looks and I'd like to know if I can change it at some point. Also if you could give the location it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're on the PC you can type "showracemenu" (without the quotes) into the console and it will bring up the character creation menu. Might want to save before you do that though, not sure if it can mess anything up.

If you're not on the PC, then I can't answer your question. I haven't encountered any barbers or plastic surgeons yet myself.

The default characters look like they've been through the woodmill mostly, especially the women, but I was able to refine my character enough before progressing, and saved the game just before the 2nd "revise character?" on the cemetery hill in Goodsprings.

But yes, I like the option to change, and hopefully will find a good robot who knows how it's done in the Vegas Strip, which seems like a logical place, as they have the wealth and tools available.

Thanks for the quick replies. Yea, I'll have to keep an eye out. It's not gonna kill the game for me but I guess I'm kinda anol about how my char looks. His head is a little to small n his face a little to Christmas elffy for my liking. Ha. I left it how it was on the second chance to change because by that point I was almost comfortable with it, but, I'm now regretting rushing through to keep playing.

Edit. On 360 btw

Or you could add a mask and wear that, but I see your point as you're dedicating a lot of energy into this character. I have a feeling the surgery option will reappear later on.

Seriously, are there no Hockey masks in this game? I really want to recreate my Lord Humungous character, but if there's no goalie mask, I'll have to abandon ship. Please tell me there's hope.

There are numerous hockey masks throughout New Vegas; I'm partial to Biker Goggles, though.

I need to kill the guy in Aces theatre to get his cool eye patch. Any way to do this without everyone going ape [censored]? Can I kill him, leave, come back in three days and everything be kosher?

Whew, that's a load off my mind. The Fallout wiki is still in its infancy, and didn't list hockey masks yet. I'm starting to get attached to my Fallout version of the Ayatollah of Rock n' Rolla, and he just wouldn't be the same without the mask.

I am kind of the same way. The longer I play with my guy the more he looks like Brian Crescente (it was an accident!). I havent been able to change my appearance yet, but I did find a spot that had 4 or 5 pairs of Authority glasses which I repaired. Now I have a fully conditioned pair of sunglasses on my Fallout Brian Crescente :disguise:

I am also kind of picky about the look of my character, so I have never liked the way the characters look on any of the Bethesda games. They always strike me as sort of crackhead-ish.
