[POSSIBLE FIX] Game crashes after the intro movie's done

First of all, I didn't find this fix, just stumbled up on it by luck when I tried to get Fallout 3 to work as well. The reason why I'm posting this here is because I haven't seen a thread that's displayed this fix yet, and I've been browsing these forums everyday since I first installed Fallout New Vegas on this new computer. Found it here >> http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/429066-fallout-3-new-game-crash-every-4.html#post11170824

SO!! This "fix" only works if you got a Xonar soundcard (I my self got a Asus Xonar HD soundcard). What you do is that you simply double klick on the Xonar soundcard icon on the bottom left of your monitor, then in the main window that pops upp, press the button that says "GS" For me it's on the bottom right side of the window. After "GS" has been dissabled you can start the game and hopefully play it, unless it's something else that's causing this problem for you.

After trying the d3d9.dll "fix", deleting the video and some settings fix, making sure that all drivers were up to date and much much more i kinda gave up on ever playing Fallout New Vegas. I haven't gotten this problem before since I used to run Fallout 3 on my old computer which ran on Windows xp and a standard MB soundcard. Ridicolous that Fallout doesn't just accept it like all the other games toh... but it's still a great series ;)

Anyhow, the point is... If all the other tips doesn't work, just dissable "GS" on your soundcard, it can be found somewhere around the DSP modes, and then you'll hopefully be able to play the game. I hope this works for you.
