Fallout NV has'nt worked for me since the new patch. The game just hangs, I dont even get the loader options screen. You just double click on the icon, steam says its loading game, and then nothing. And while its doing nothing its absolutely EATING my resources.

I'm reading in certain places on the net that Betheseda have told people not to download the patch??? I've noticed that this is not being reported officially by Betheseda but the info has come from unnofficial sources. Is it true? Is this just for users on other formats or does that apply for PC users as well? Because its too damn late for me and for anyone else who uses auto updates in steam.

I'd just like to know whats happening with this patch. Do Betheseda know there are serious problems? Is it being worked on?

At this point I'd like to say that I'd like my money back, but I know I'm just urinating into the wind with that one, so can I at least have A game?

Of something? Anything?

Edit: and before you ask, yes I have verified files in steam. It keeps telling me that 1 file failed to verify and will be downloaded but nothing happens. No file is seemingly re-downloaded and we end up going round in a big circle. I've read the post which says delete .ini files and try again, but since this information is useless to me (WHICH .ini files? What are they called? Where are they? Not everyone has ESP.) then I am stuck

They have addressed the problems there have been. Every platform has had problems, PS3 users losing their DLC, PC users having their modding tools messed up, and 360 users havng corrupted saves. They said there would be a patch for the patch last night, which of course never happened. :rolleyes: But hopefully everything will be fixed before our Sun collapses into a white dwarf.

There are several ini files.
The fallout.ini is in My Games/FalloutNV/
The fallout-default.ini is in \Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas

Fallout.ini gets replaced by the launcher everytime you start the game with the default ini.
Therefore, if you want to make a change to the ini and are using the launcher, change the default ini (backup it first)
Try deleting both, BUT MAKE A BACKUP COPY BEFORE!
