I seem to have a problem that occurs more often than the amount of time I've been playing. It didn't happen at all until I had almost finished Goodsprings. The first time it happened is when those guys come for the guy hiding in the Gas Station. As I approached them the screen changed to a solid colour. The background music was still going but there were no sound effects. I couldn't 'Ctrl-Alt-Del' or 'Alt-Tab' out of the screen. Each time it happens I have to force the computer off and then back on; not good for the system. Sometimes I can't even play for 2 minutes before it does that. I can't see any similarity in the environment or what's going on. I've tried the default 'Low' settings with no change. I've also tried Windowed Mode (which surprisingly goes 'full screen' with that colour issue as well; it doesn't just fill the window).
I can say that I have installed the game on my wife's older Dell laptop and it runs OK (not the greatest at Low settings but it doesn't crash). I've contacted EVGA support about the video card and with all the testing we did they have determined that it's not a video card issue. I've checked temps, removed the overclock on my CPU and let the motherboard control the RAM speed (I had it set to the 1066MHz/2.1v that it's rated for but the m/b likes down-clocking it to 800MHz/1.8v)
Any ideas?
