Steam Room Crash

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:49 pm

I was wandering around the Ultra Luxe casino and saw a door to the steam room. I entered the room and had a chance to walk around for a little bit, then all of a sudden the game just crashes. Now I find out that I have to go into the steam room for one of the quests I'm working on. Can anyone tell me a solution to this crashing problem? Please get back to me.

Same problem here - one of the first true bugs (outside the auto/quick save bug) that I've encountered in my 20+ hours of play.

I can run around other parts of the Ultra Luxe, but when I enter the bath house/steam room to meet, er, someone, it freezes (still has sound) and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of the game.

Have used different saves (the autosave I had, and a few manual ones) and both lead me to the same result in that room.

Ditching this quest until it's fixed, or there's a work-around.

Hit up the bugs and tech support forum and drop this thread there.

That is the exact problem I am having.

Try this:

Set everything (graphically) to "Low"... and I mean everything. Make sure you set this up in the Options of the New Vegas splash screen and not while in game.

It'll look like dog poop, but should allow you to get in there, do your business, and get back out without the annoying crash.

Do a manual save (New Save recommended) once you exit the main door to the area and you should be good to go.

Hope this works for everyone.

Tried it out, but the same thing happened. Everything froze up (except for the sound). Thanks anyway though.
