Where exactly are you traveling when making your way to Vegas? Stick to the roads is my advice

im gonna guess you were a genius and took the direct path to new vegas.......well if you went to the quarry junction area you would of heard that deathclaws live around there so you gotta take the LONG WAY AROUND, you gotta go thru primm novac, baoulder city and all of those cities, then you willl reach i88 and freeside, when you reach freeside do the quest GI blues, cus at the end you can get a reward of a pass into new vegas, there you go.

Well he gives you a pass into The Strip, which is a part of New Vegas.
