Vault 21 Is Pointless

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:52 am

Okay so when i first entered the strip and saw the huge vault 21 sign i expected another big casino but was let down when there was nothing to do in there. none of the gambling stuff is usable, theirs no important npc's there and there are no quest releated to it at all. The only purpose the vault has is to find the strip snowglobe. Something that i think would of made it alot better is for it too still be hidden to be found by you or the original vault dwellers still owning the vault not Mr.House.

just my views, what do you think?

Actually, there are a couple quests which involve that vault, just that none of them are acquired in it.

But it does seem like the concept wasn't really used to its full potential. It's pretty much just another generic hotel that happens to use the vault tileset, but it could have been done better. If nothing else, they could have let you actually gamble in it, I mean, it's true that it got turned into a hotel after Mr. House took it over, but I'd think that letting people gamble in it would attract a lot of customers, especially since that's what most people who go to the Strip are there for.

"Much ado about nothing" pretty much sums up my thoughts. Vault 21 serves its purpose in the storyline.

As far as "no quests..."- uh, not quite. There's definitely at least one that requires a visit there.

I wouldn't say its completely pointless you can make a lot of caps about 1000-1500 caps by stealing stuff in the Vault plus you can get the free quest with the Vault Suits.

This.

I got Sarah flirting about the "leather", but my Speech was 8 points too low to close the deal. So next level-up, bang went the Speech score. Back to Vault 21, and now all she wants to talk about is making . . . money. I think I blew my one shot with her.

You need to sell a certain amount of Vault suits.

I brought her 22 after I raised my Speech score and all I got was "let's have coffee." Girl is demanding.

Vault 21 "belongs" to mister House.

I believe that the developers have made it empty to repeat the emptiness of Lucky 38.

Don't you also improve your Strip reputation by bringing in the Vault Suits? Probably getting respect for having the guts to go out, find these very dangerous holes in the ground and rob them. Especially if you decide to clean out Vault 3, which I'm considering doing after I make my Khan drug shipment. Whack the head guy then fight my way out. :flamethrower: :toughninja: :gun: :nuke: :fallout:

There are quests that relate to it, there aren't any inside except one or it's a unmarked quest but it was still a essential area. Also have you explored it fully? Asked yourself some questions like "Why are areas of the vault blocked off?" or "What are those noises behind the wall?".. Does anybody play RPGs thoroughly anymore?

I was hoping for it to be a vault casino with a nice room and people who actually acted like vault dwellers. Basically its what I hoped for in FO3 as well, a vault with survivors that are just living their lives and you can get a chance to live there but its like the idea was scrapped half way through and they just filled it with cement blocks and said, "yeah House is a [censored] and thats why this place is generic/boring/lame."
