Fallout New Vegas Easter Eggs

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:40 am

Tried to do a search for this and actually turned up nothing for some reason which surprised me. Even did a search on google with it turning up nothing and I probably missed something, but anyways what EEs have you found? Please include if the EE is found in the game regularly, as part of the Wild Wasteland Perk, Random Encounter, or part of a quest.

Regular Easter Eggs

*Point Lookout Reference (not confirmed): Went into the back shack of the Saloon in Good Spring after picking the lock on the door. In there I found several stills with some moonshine ontop of them. However on the shelf next to the old contraption I found a shelf with some scrap metal, scrap electronics, and 2 Fission Batteries. In the Point Lookout game the player can find a woman in this old shack where you can fix up her still. After that the player has the option of helping the woman who divulges the ingredients for making the moonshine which include two to 3 Fission Batteries for a bit of zip. Perhaps the lady in the Saloon is related to the Old woman in Point Lookout or learned of her recipe *shrug*

Wild Wasteland Perk EEs

*Skeleton In The Fridge: Can be found near the road that leads out of Goodsprings that contains a Fedora (hat). Referenced to the 4th movie of Indiana Jones where he climbs into the fridge for safety against a nuclear explosion.

*Burned Corpses: Unknown location, but it will be named Owen and Beru as a reference to the parents of Luke from SW Episode 4.

Quest EEs

*NCR Mission Protect The President: going ontop of the sniper nest and taking out the legion sniper the player can use the radio to give information about the sniper attack. Using the Radio there is an option asking "We're fine here thankyou, How about you?" which is a reference to Han Solo as he talks to the person on the radio in SW Episode 4.

When I get some more Easter Eggs (EEs) i'll be sure to post em up here.

About the moonshine still, the batteries thing is a reference to moonshiners who scraqed batteries into their moonshine to make it taste more potent- it doesn't actually make it better. Cass' moonshine recipe calls for fission batteries too.

You can find a copy of "The Wasteland Survival Guide" in a tent at a camp north of the Mojave Outpost, the book the Lone Wanderer helps Moira with in Fallout 3 :) Not sure if it shows up in other locations as well though.

Wild Wasteland
When doing the mission "Veni, Vidi, Vici" You pick up an NCR emergency signal. If you tune in to the station you can receive messages from the "Alien" franchise.

"They're coming out of the walls"
"Game over man. Game over"

Made me smile :-D

Spoiler
His Dad is the Mysterious Stranger. He even has a gun on him called the Mysterious Magnum. At one point in dialog he even says something like this.

My ma said he was a mysterious fellow
something something stranger .

Notice how it looks like it says "Mysterious Stranger"? You should go talk to him again

I mentioned this in another thread, but found what might be a small Back to the Future egg. Hack Sarah's terminal in Vault 21; you'll find an e-mail from a guest referring to her influential husband, Biff Tann (Biff Tannen?).

Athough Timmy (from Lassie) never actually fell in a well, Rex took me to a place called Jimmy's well on my first playthrough. an obvious reference to Lassie.I thought it was pretty cool.

Not sure if it is but it might be a wild wasteland encounter. Close to Novac there is a bilnoard spray-painted to say "Let it all end" and in another color "Quit your whining!" Also the aliens near Howowitz Farm.

Is it just me, or do there seem to be a lot of references to movies Harrison Ford starred in?

Nuclear Tactic Defense Moose!
And god said give them beer!

Most interesting thing I have found in the Mojave wasteland.

Also... I found an easter egg to Fallout 2.

There is a part where a man references Lou Tenant.

"He said something to him like... Lou... yea Lou... oh Lou Tenant! Yea, Lou Tenant was what he said!"

Actually, that's a reference to Fallout 2, which was a reference to Lassie. You have the same type of encounter in Fallout 2.

As far as Wild Wasteland goes, I was told Owen and Beru were in Nipton and the fridge is near Goodsprings. I can't find either!
