I never bothered with CHA in FO3, but instead just kept speech maxed, is this still a good tactic for F:NV? Or will I miss out on possible dialogue options?

apparently charisma is much more important now than in FO3. if you use followers you get bonuses to damage and armor for them based on charisma. skill points are stingier now although magazines help make up for it. im suffering now cause i gimped my charisma and speech and there are ALOT of speech challenges that get you additional goodies. im currently looking all over for a speech magazine cause im a couple points short for a quest.
