I dual-boot win7 and ubuntu 10.04.
When I installed fallout-NV (through wind7, on ntfs) it put a file (that is really a folder) on my ext4 partition containing more files and folders.
I can't access the drive right now, so I can't see which files are there, but the "resource" folder is.
Let me know if you need more information

Im not aware that windows 7 can natively read an ext4 linux partition unless you use some third party method. I think linux can read the ntfs though. If windows 7 isnt aware of the drive it shouldnt be putting anything on it.
falloutnv is installed in the steam directory. All its files go there. When you boot to windows 7 how many partitions does it detect? When you boot to ubuntu what is the name of this folder and what other files are in it?

Look here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas
or wherever you installed steam.
Should be a data and redist folder as well as some .exes and dlls. also some inis.

Bottom line does the game run in windows? If so, I wouldnt worry about it.

It's the installation dvd. I left it in the dvd-drive
It just showed up on the desktop as a file and not as a disc (as it usually would)
Because of that i didn't even consider that posibility.
