I have fallout new vegas and both expansions for steam,

My issue is I am gonna restore my computer and was curious if there is a way to save the save files and use them after the restore so I dont lose my progress.

And again I go through steam to play the game

I also want to do this...I'm hoping it's as easy as saving the "saves" folder from the Documents > my games > FalloutNV > saves path

then once reformat is complete, steam reloaded and NV installed and up todate, just dragging the saves folder into the right place per above path and replacing the empty saves folder with the saves backup I've made.... Can anyone confirm that this is correct?

Many thanks!

**EDIT**
I think I found the answer Scarver, after searching back a long way in this forum I found this thread... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1181281-backing-up-saved-games/ seems my method above will work fine for us. I'll be doing this reformat tomorrow so I'llupdate if something wierd happens, otherwise all is well :)

Given the size of the save games over time (easy 6-8 MB a piece) I kept the Steam Cloud option for save game syncs off. I then simply copied C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves to a safe place. After the reinstallation, just put them back and all's well. You could even save the entire FalloutNV directory so you got the config files as well.

Cloud has been disabled for NV shortly after release, it was causing problems.
