Those Legion asses don't waste any time

So, starting at Neutral reputation with the Legion, I accept the "Booted" quest and proceed to rescue the enslaved Powders from the Legion. After a hard-won fight with the Legion there (the typical occupents, and another patrol that just happened to be passing at the wrong time), my reputation with the Legion turns to "Hated". Literally, within seconds of my reputation change (not even enough time to heal), I'm pounced upon by the Legion Assassins without so much as an introduction or declaration of purpose. Tons of Stimpacks later, I killed them, but, damn.

Is this normal? I thought the Legion waited a couple days to send a hit squad after you, even if they don't warn you first, like the NCR. It's amazing how quickly Caesar baned together a hit squad for me, considering I'd only killed his men moments before.

It seems like where you are affects the assassins, I've only ever ran into them in the south-west corner of the map. When my rep with them changed in that area, they showed up quick. Seems like 5-10 minutes.

This happened to me too, and it was a bloody adventure. I made a post about it several weeks ago. I didn't have much in terms of armor and weapons. The thing is, once I beat them I was never ambushed again. I was looking forward to a little rivalry with those skirt wearing idiots.

I killed several Assassins with a centurion outfit on (Legionaire assassins that is) and they just took it, They took it like true men.
But now whenever I visit Old grammy store lady I get ambushed.. :cryvaultboy:

I haven't run into any Legion Assassins and I've gotten to the point in the main quest where I failed all the Legions quests (I sided with House). I'd love for those Assassins to come after me the All American will turn them into swiss cheese.

I had it happen when I killed the vuplinis dude or whatever you call him in Nipton. After that , I wore the wolf hat for a while just to aggravate them...(or so I would like to think). I had them appear only twice, but the first time was tough. It should have occurred at least a day later, but what can you say? You won.

For some reason when I see the title I was thinking it is something to do with Confirm Bachelor interaction with Legion....

I was surprised that I never got the chance to use Confirmed Bachelor on a Legion NPC. Aren't they known for their homosixuality?

Reason why Legion Assassins are sent out so quickly:

(Murder a random NPC in the Imperial City)
"Stop! You violated the law. Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence. Your stolen goods are now forfeit."

Resist Arrest

"Then pay with your blood!"

(Flee city, pursuit ends, fast travel to city on other end of map.)

"Stop right there criminal scum! Nobody breaks the law on my watch! I'm conviscating your stolen goods, now pay the fine or it's off to jail."

Resist Arrest

"Then pay with your blood!"

They have the same telapathic powers that the Imperial Guards in Oblivion have.

Lol! I had them turn up ridiculously quick too - had just cleared out Nelson (?) where you free/kill the hostages, and made it a couple of feet away from the NCR sandbags when they jumped me. Worst thing was, all the NCR people (including the ones I saved) just ran away! :bolt: Thanks guys, thanks a lot!

Every time I have started a new character who became hated by the Legion (3 or 4 times now because I started a couple characters I didn't bother to continue), this is precisely what has happened, no matter where I was when I pissed off the Legion.
