I'm tempted to buy New Vegas for the PC just for mods. The mods seem to be great and add a lot to the base game. So I was wondering of playing on the PC (my laptop rather) is accessible. I'm coming from the Xbox and I don't too many troubles with using mouse/keyboard. Is it easy to play New Vegas on a laptop/PC? And does it crash a lot with/without mods? (Sorry if this is just a jumbled mess)

On a Pc take some time.And about mods yes.You will have some problems like incompatibilite problems and a litlle more crashes using mods(some times very problematic problems)You can use FOMM(mod manager) to make the crashes and incompatibilites problems minor.There is no limit on the amount of the mods you use but using like 200 mods will have some problems,yes.But like i said you must watch for incompatibilites.But the mods are great.Some are like Dlc's.Im already on my 4th playtrought.

Before running out and buying a game for your pc, it is a wise decision to make sure that your pc is actually capable of running said game. Posting your dxdiag would go a long way in helping to determine it's capabilities.

FYI: IIRC there is a physical limit of 255 plugins that New Vegas can handle, some people have reported hitting their limit well before they reach that number though.

Majority of laptops come with integrated video chipsets...better make sure your is even capable of running the game because most are not. And of the ones that can run it, it's on rather poor settings. Dedicated video cards/chipsets goes a long way for this game. Don't buy this game unless you know for sure what your laptop is capable of.

As I'm tech inept I'll say this: My laptop is from 2009, sorry i can't say more.

The "newness" of the laptop means pretty much nothing in regards to whether your hardware is capable enough. Manufacturers still rip people off in selling expensive laptops that come with garbage hardware.

This would be a problem. A chipset cannot run the game. Since it's a laptop, you won't be able to upgrade the video card.

You can however build a computer that will run the game for a fair price, if you wish. Tig would be of more help there.
