I noticed that when I choose "options" on startup the graphics card listed is an NVIDIA 8800gs even though I have an ATi 4870X2. There are no other choices in the dropdown. The game seems to run properly but I'm wondering if I could get better performance if the card was detected correctly (it stutters at times when loading scenery). I'm running with the latest ATI Windows 7 64-bit drivers.

If you ever had an nvidia card, there might be some leftovers from when you uninstalled the drivers. Use driversweeper to clean out any registry entries. If you have never used an nvidia card, then I'm stumped. I don't see any real reason why the game's driver detection software should negatively affect your performance though.

Your game will detect that card if your using the d3d9.dll fix. To get it to recognize your card remove the fix.
