Levels and perks

Can someone please explain to me when you get perks? I know the wiki says every 2 levels but that doesn't seem right. Does it start at 1? I'm at level 12 right now, when is my next perk? I'm trying to map out which ones I will take and would like to know how many I've got left.

It's every two levels on the even numbers. So you next perk is at 14, thn 16, etc.

Are you sure? I thought we had a perk after level 1.

Yeah it's every 2 levels. You get TRAITS at level 1; and you can pick up to two of those.

Does anyone know how many skill books are in the game? I don't want to waste points on my skills that I can get from skill books down the road.

the wording might be confusing you... it's every 2 levels... but you start at level one... so when you level up the first time you get a perk... then levels 4, 6, 8, etc.

Apparently according to the wikia, there's 5 of a few, with 4 of the rest.

You can pick up to 2 traits at level 1, then you get perks at the even levels including 2.

But if you have the educated perk (which I do) it is a +4 to the skill correct?

Correct, if you mean Comprehesion and not Educated.
