So the strip...

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:26 pm

So I reached the point in the MQ quest-line that I need to go to the Strip.

Unfortunately, I only have 400 caps; nothing worth any sort of value, and I don't know a good and quick way to make money.

Like I said, my quest needs me to get in there, but I have very little money and don't know how to get that kind of money (2000!?!?!)

Is there another way of entry or something?

The Cheater's Guide to Free Money:
1 Find a merchant who has more than one of some weapon or armor, ideally at different levels of repair.
2 Buy the cheap item
3 Sell it back
4 Do it 2 more times
Now you will be selling a perfectly repaired item back to the merchant for full price and buying at the low inventory price
Continue until the merchant is out of caps or you are over your weight limit, or both.

You know, I never ever got that trick to work in FO3 so I don't have high-hopes of getting it to work in NV. Though, I at this stage don't have high-hopes that NV will work for me anyway since I had a lot of trouble installing it last night.....into this morning....

Alright, I found something that worked very well to get into the Strip for free, no glitch. (I'm not one to use glitches in FO. :P)

First you have to have an NCR uniform; I grabbed one early on from Primm because I thought they looked cool. Anyway, before you can go to the strip there's a Mojave Camp or something like that outside of the Strip (By the "New Vegas" welcome sign). You need to go in there and there's a building that has a monorail that goes back and forth between the camp and the Strip. After you enter the building head up the left flight of stairs and put the uniform on (If you don't have the uniform on the guards by the monorail door will kill you) after you go up the stairs take another left there will be two armed NCR soldiers guarding a door; if you have the uniform on they'll wave you through. Take the monorail to The Strip and you'll exit by The Tops Casino.

Sorry if that doesn't make too much sense but I got into New Vegas when I was level 5 playing VeryHard/hardcoe Mode because I wanted to see The Strip, but that's how I did it.

Do the questline for The King. It's called GI Blues.

He gives you ONE favor, one of which is getting in for free.
