Your top scary moments

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:18 pm

I decided to post this in the spoiler forum because some of my scary moments contain spoilers.

***BE AWARE - SPOILER ALERT!!!1***

My most scary moment so far was going in the power plant west of Novac. Just clearing out all the ghouls was creepy enough. I had the goosebumps for about 15 minutes straight! Then the basemant...holy crap those varmints are huge and scary, not to mention hard to kill (until you get one of their weapons and use it on them). That place was just all around spooky. The music also added to it. I enjoyed the mission very much, but was glad to be done with it. So far FNV is turning out to be a great game. Doing all the sidequests is fun and sometimes overwhelming, but I always get through it.

With that being said, what are your top scary moments so far?

Hahah I would have to agree with you on that quest. The ghouls were a lot less frightening in FO3, the extra voice work when they see you adds to their intimidation factor...Even though you can dispatch them with a machete or rebar clup fairly easily...The basemant didn't scare me as much as make me mad because of how often I died..

Anyway, my scariest moment was going past the quarry ignoring the DeathClaw signs and warnings from the locals. I was sneaking with my Varmint Hunter scanning the place for DeathClaws and as soon as I thought I was in the clear my character gets thrown forward with 4 NV DeathClaws growling behind me...I jumped a little...

The basemant was pretty freaky at first because i didnt know what was down there, not to mention hard. I beat it on the second try though then the game froze and i had to do it like 3 more times. :rage:

Also i had a pretty funny moment. When i was around goodsprings i was headed south. When i heard this bloodcurdling monstrous scream. I was freaking out hard, expecting some big brute to charge after me. I was pretty surprised after a baby gecko charged me.

I was chasing a tiny scorpion and it had gotten trapped on a bush, so needless to say I was [censored] with it a bit when I thought I heard another one coming from behind. I swung around as fast as I could right as a GIANT radscorpion stabbed me in the chest. I bout [censored] my pants. Was the first I'd seen of the large scorpion and I was only a lvl 2. lol

This. Those things are terrifying--I keep expecting deathclaws to come at me, and instead I have these adorable little geckos waddling around.

I was terrified of the lakelurk the first time one attacked me and I saw a closeup in VATS, but now they're just an annoyance.

Same as yours pilot, those Nightkin Mutants where using stealth boy's in the basemant so you had no chance of seeing them until they we on top of you, after encountering the first one I must admit I decided to turn on a light or two

Mimd you that is a big credit to programmers, there are very few to no videos games that can send a shiver up my spine, the Fallout games have managed to do that in both games. Good work.
