G.e.c.k For Console's ?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:39 pm

I've been wondering with co-op probably going to be pretty much rule'd out and no chance of multi-player.
what about supporting the psn network and the xbox live community's with a map/ mission creator or even weapon
creator with in built balancing. Imagen what could be achieved if this was implemented.
I loved fallout 3 to death i still regularly play it for xbox.
i know a few response's are likely to be get a p.c but im not a pc gamer never have never will.

feel free to add any idea's chance's are this is pretty late for New Vegas but i can dream :celebration:

trust me if there could be moding there would...so basicly the lack of moding for console stems from not being able to rather then not wanting to.

You're gonna have to buy a PC. Consoles can't handle the GECK.

i can see it hurting DLC they'd just have to be more creative with it. but even if it was limited it would be amazing. you ever play far cry ? had THE best map creator ever for console's in my opinion on a fairly mediocore game.

yea... i think if they managed to somehow make a modding tool for consoles it'd probably be too difficult to use as most console gamers r more casual (i'm not sayin all!). i have an xbox n a pc but i'll probably jus stick to modding the pc version

problem is mods takes up RAM, consols have a set RAM, meaning as more mods are made= the slower the game becomes, trust me people rather have good speed then less content.

They should at least match it up with something similar. Like each month you can download a weapon from the console store.
Free Version: A random location
$0.99: In your pocket.

According to a moderator's post, consoles can not run the Geck, end of story. But there can be an additional tool to convert PC mods to console mods.

Unreal Tournament 3 allows fan-made maps to be ported to Playstation 3 and if it's possible, I see no reason not to use a similar conversion tool for F:NV.

Sorry folks. As powerful as the consoles are , they are not PCs. They do not have the Memory to run the GECK (2 GB needed, consoles have like 512MB of RAM) nor is there any way to load the user content.

That being said, how would anyone Quality Control the mods? What combos can work together? Where do they get the mods from? Do they pay for them? Can they charge for them? If they do that, then a whole can of worms opens up with all the other community mods. We would have to get lawyers involved and you know how much they screw things up.

As far as the Unreal Maps, even though that feature is there, Maps are not Mods. And, from what I have read, this does not work that well anyway.

So, let me state this now, once and for all. No Mods for the Consoles. No GECK for the Consoles. Technically and legally this is impossible to do.
