Console Geck(only For Console Users)

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:35 pm

Since the PS3/360 can't handdle the GECK.
I thought that it would only be fair for console users to still be able to download similiar contents from the devs.
It would kind of be mods but they are addons(Since Modding on PS3/360 isn't allowed). Going under addons-FalloutNewVegas-GECK and you would have similiar contents from outside modders but perfected by the devs for us.
Each month PS3/360 users would recieve a email from Bethesda with a list of mods, you have to pick one, the votes would be counted and that mod would be the addon of the month.

Ex:
List-(These are one of the best mods, so the ones that aren't pick can go to a different month's pick)
Cybernetic Dawn
J3X Drivable Motorcycles
Night Vision
Greener World
Cube Experimental

This, I used to be a hardcoe 360 user, now after Oblivion I switched to the PC, I realized that mods are so worth it. I would want Bethesda/Obsidian to be working on expansion packs or new games and not little short DLCs.

Like I said they aren't mods they are addons, the devs find a mod that someone has created, they ask the creator if they can make a similiar addon to it.
From scratch but with the same ideas as the mod and more perfected by the devs, the addons are intalled to match both the software and hardware just like Broken Steel.

not just anyone can mod something to work on a PS3 or a Xbox 360 nor would Sony or Microsoft give people the tools to do so, also why should a modded waste his free time redo his mod from scratch? A modder obviously has the PC version so he is fine and happy as it is.

Yea I rather have addons of weapons and general locations that I can explore and loot rather than another short little quest.

No, and there is no way this can ever possibly happen in our lifetime.

You miss understood me, the developers of New Vegas would have to ask the creator of the orginal person that came up with the mod, so the NV Developers can create a kind of better replica of the mod, but instead it would be a addon. So there would be no sueing over the original creator.

This wouldn't be for free but it wouldn't cost $10 like the Fallout 3 addons did, the most it would cost would be like $5 depending on the size of it and how well it was created compared to the mod version.

Listen to me, these aren't mods. They are addons made by the developers of New Vegas, the idea of the addons would be taken by a mod on the PC.

EX:
A modder (named Bob) for the PC created a M16 mod.

Console:
The people voted for this M16 mod, so the Developers go to this guy called Bob and they ask him "Can we borrow your idea of the M16 Mod, so we can make a addon version of it for our console users". Bob says "Yes"
In a couple of days there is a more perfected version called M16 Addon for only $0.99.

So yes it is possible because it is not a mod but it is a addon. Read this carefully, it went from a M16 Mod, to a entirely new M16 Addon.

first of I find it unlikely a modder give 2 damn about the consol folks because he/she already plays the PC version, second there would still be unavoidable problems with hardware, Beth doesn?t have some magic tool that makes there version of the m16 any more compatible then the one Bob did, it still slowly lead to a lagy game.

So your telling me that the new weapons in the Addon from Fallout 3 Broken Steel, wouldn't work in Fallout 3 because it wasn't in the original game?
OMG, the mod will be left alone for only the PC, the Developers of NV start from scratch, no textures, no meshes, but they know that they are making a M16. Nothing from the mod will be tranfered to the addon. The addon only has a idea, the Developers will make the M16 design by themselves.
That way there will be no hardware problems.

Basically, I am saying that the developers should take the idea of mods, and make their own version of the mod. Do you understand?

You are basically asking for DLC.

Yeah, we don't do console/platform wars around here. And we don't allow you to insult other members of this board or groups of members. So...um...yeah.

Oh wait. Wrong place. Ummm, we don't allow discusion of modding consoles. It's against the EULA and all that stuff.
