DLC for Fallout 3 New Vegas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:54 pm

I am very angry, and very frustrated as to why we the consumers should have to pay more money for the DLC for New Vegas.

are you serious? as much as I hate the state the game was shipped in, people actually had to work to make this stuff, which means their company had to pay them. Bethesda isn't going to hand out paychecks for [censored] and giggles, they want something in return.

and I wouldn't start dissing (or "flaming" if your a forumer[forumian?]) anyone unless they do the same to you, of course if you want a warning from a mod, feel free... it doesn't seem like you joined to contribute anything positive...

yes I am serious.
just because they had to make this stuff as you say, does that justify to work and make a product that doesnt work?
Let me ask you something..... if you bought a car and it was a lemon, would you spend more money on it knowing that it was a dud from the factory????
Of course not.
You would ask for your money back.

In the real world if I had a group of people working for me and they produced something like FOT NV, I would give the whole lot the boot up their proverbial you know what, if not the sack.

And let me remind you of something, the whole purpose of a forum is to voice both positive and negative comments.

I just happen to be one of those consumers who has had it up to here with companies like Bethesda who treat us consumers with utter contempt.

Money above quality and ethical behaviour.

Get it out before its tested properly.

Maybe I do have something positive to say. I did struggle playing through the game despite it crashing and freezing 3 and 4 times each time I played it.

I could have easily gone back to J & B and they would have refunded my money.

But the game offers something others dont. Involved story line, a long and interesting gameplay, but at a price and I am plainly expressing my frustration.

So I would appreciate if you understand my point. If you dont, well your the one with the problem.

Realized how.. mean it was.

What I meant to say was: My Copy of New Vegas is just fine OP, don't know what is wrong with yours, but mine is glitch free. Unlucky I guess?

the car company wouldn't pay it's workers to make lemons, they pay them to make cars. bethesdas doesn't pay it's employees to make lemons, they pay them to make games. yes, unfortunately some people have severe difficulties with the game, however, they're not going to hand this [censored] out for free.

do it then. you said so yourself your not happy with it. there not going to fix it when the problem lies within the core of the game itself. no amount of patches could ever fix that.

Its obvious that a lot of you are biased towards this game, and no matter what I say you are all set in your ways.

But it was interesting and even fun to read some of your pathetic excuses for a game that is plagued with so many glitches.

i dont get why your even playing a game you hate? and im not biased, iv had problems with NV but i had even more problems with FO3.

you must be either high on grass or you work for Bethesda.
How is the game fixed?
I have played hundreds of games on all 3 consoles PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, and have never encountered glitches and freezes as many as in this game.
These people you describe as working, should not have released the game in the first place.
Have you been on other forums to read the thousands who have experienced the same problem?
Finally, how do I know the DLC is developed independantly?
Do I even care?
HELL NO!!!!!

Then why are you complaining on these forums?
Do we even care?
HELL NO!!!!!

Valve pays their employees to make games as well, all DLC`s for the majority of their games are offered free. We get DLC for TF2 for free, we get DLC for L4D1 and L4D2 for free as well. Point is though DLC can be offered free and not be a burden finacially for the company. Valve makes their money on selling of products, same could be done here with Fallout Products cause I am sure alot of people here would love to buy them.

In the end its close minded to say their not going to hand out DLC for free cause it cost money to make it, other companies do for some of their products.

Somebody still has to make the DLC. And those somebodies still need to get paid for their work.

What?! I have both L4D games and I *never* got free DLC.

What do you constitute as a decent reply?

Anyway, I don't see why Obsidian should work for free.
I wouldn't.
I would never work for free unless I was a career person who had to svck up to my boss.

So New Vegas was buggy, they fixed a lot of it in the first couple of patches.
And it's not Obsidians fault that it was this way, it was Bethesda that handled QA and set the deadline without delaying the game.

If the game doesn't work for you then there isn't much else to do.
But Bethesda nor Obsidian have to give out content they work on for a long time for free.
Valve does things differently, but not Bethesdian.

GraniteDevil, the PC version of L4D gets the DLC for free.

I'm starting to question my choice of platform! Oh, well. I'm sure there must have been a non-arbitrary reason for that decision. Being on a 360, I had to pay for the DLC.

I don't think there is a good reason to release New Vegas DLC for free. DLC adds more content and we should pay for that. If we had to pay for patches... well, then I'd be with the nay-sayer crowd.

Besides, the DLC cost like 85 swedish kronors which translates to 8.5 dollars IIRC.
Is it really that much to complain about?
I mean, going to the pictures cost more and only gives you 3 hours of entertainment at maximum but also has annoying people talking, too loud bass, little leg room and no pause for pee breaks.
A DLC is actually far more profitable.
So paying less than 10 dollars is hardly anything to complain about.

You might need to check steam and see whats going on, cause ive already got 3 or 4 DLC`s for the mutation gameplay and their doing community maps now as well.

The latest one was on the 28th of January, it was a new DLC for the community mutation called Nightmare. Then theres the DLC called "Last Man Standing" or something like that where game play was changed yet again where you were all by yourself fighting to survive.

I know lots of people dont consider those "upgrades" as DLC but it fits as DLC considering 2KCzech calls their clothing and car packs for Mafia II DLC when it doesnt add new tasks or new characters just new clothing and cars.

Your lucky I didnt call it Fallout 3 Crappy Vegas.

Looks to me like you're the won who needs to get a life. You're comin' on the internet and flipping a [censored] when you get corrected get off your period before you post comments against other people on the Internet.

Im glad I remind you of someone........I am from Australia so I cannot relate to John Boehner........so I dont get it

However what I do get is that some of you are living in glass houses and I get so annoyed by your irrelevant comments so I will continue to make my argument that this game is a damn disaster.

I just downloaded Dead Money and its worse. It Freezes every 10 minutes and for some of you here is one link...

http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/12/06/new-fallout-new-vegas-patch-hitting-ps3-pc-xbox-360-soon/

.just in case you might take the time to get out of your glasshouses and see that this game has some serious problems.

And dont give me the argument why I continue on with the game cause thats a lame excuse.

Its the principle but I guess some of you dont have any!!!!!!!!!!!
