FNV question / help needed, spoilers

I completed new vegas last night, and decided that I was interested in the other endings and quest paths as well. Reverting to an earlier save before I had properly factiond myself with the NCR (which is who I completed the game with), I decided to go the Yes-man route.

All was going well, I got the boomers support (and couldn't make anyone else support me, unfortunatly), but I then got a choice of missions, either go one way and don't fail the 'protect the president' mission, or go another way and do it.
Not realising that this mission was required to further the games story, I opted not to save him - as I had already done so in the NCR mission.

I've been to ceasers base and installed the chip, giving me the securitrons that are there, but I'm not being given any other quests by the yes man.
Looking at the wiki, it makes no mention of not doing the 'save the president' quest.
I've tried to rest the quest with the console, and I've tried to complete the quest with the console, but neither worked. (I even tried resetting the Yes Man quest, and all that happened was my questing mark went to 0).

Is it possible for me to actually complete the game now, or have I found a way of making it impossible to win / progress with the story?

Yes Man CANNOT be failed. You can literally kill everything in the wasteland and still finish his storyline path.

Yes Man himself is technically invincible, once killed he simply respawns in another securitron (don't try killing them all either, doesn't work, I did...) 'He's' the only NPC that cannot be killed, excluding children.

So no, you haven't failed, not at all.

Yes Man is also used for speed runs, since most of his quests can be ignored by saying you don't want to do them, this applies to pretty much everyone (though I think you have to at least have made contact?) you deal with through that storyline...So yeah, just keep going, it doesn't really matter.

eta: as to why Yes Man isn't giving more quests I'm not sure, you killed House and uploaded him?

I'm not trying to kill him, I'm trying to complete the quest with him, and have done everything he's asked (bar the save the president mission) and he hasn't given me the last quest yet.

Whoops, didn't see the ETA:
Yeah, well, I didn't kill house, just disabled him, and uploaded the yes man, then went getting the boomers to help / telling him to ignore the other factions.
After that, he said I could go do the ncr president thing, or the quest which fails it, and hasn't given me any other quests.

Did you go to the El Dorado substation and upload the chip there? If you do that before saving the pres, you break the save Kimball quest.

Yeah, I did.
I only did that, because I had already saved the president when I was going the NCR route.
So, I take it there isn't any way to win?

If you uploaded the chip at the substation, just go back and talk to Yes Man at the Lucky 38, you're done.

Oh, whoops...it was before the final battle, and I did just need to talk to him to start it. :P
Thanks though!
