What is best for a moron?

I remember a very good game of Arcanum as a low-intelligence character and would like to try the same in Fallout New Vegas. I assume there is again unique dialogue where people insult or pity you.

My question is: what faction and what style of play is the best choice for that?

So far I have only completed the game once as a high-intelligence techie character siding with Yes Man and using energy weapons whenever science and medicine didn't help. A stupid character would seem to fit best for Caesar and NCR playthroughs where you can just follow the lead.

Since I can spare points from intelligence and I assume charisma makes little sense, focus can be on physical attributes. A strong player would be a natural melee/unarmed user siding with Caesar. Alternative a grunt of NCR who will not let go of a minigun after getting hands on one.

What makes most sense as character? Are there specific places that are most hilarious? I'm assuming talks with Tabitha and getting that super mutant from Jacobstown as companion could be good.

I'm currently doing an NCR playthrough with a moron. She likes really big guns and explosions and hitting stuff. She likes the New Califourthy Repobin cos they were nice to her and be her friends.

Yah, it's quite fun but there isn't much dialogue which is affected yet, I'm just past Nipton with her and it's pretty fun though, I'm so used to playing high intelligence characters who use repair/speech/lockpick etc this is quite strange.

I chose NCR because you can just follow orders, Yes Man would be a shambles ("You're in charge now miss" "CAKES!!!!" "Oh god...") and House would only be good if he mocked you the whole time, which I don't think happens...

Had a pretty good line from Ghost, which I haven't heard before and assume was due to low INT, she told me not to fall off on the way down...

But yes, I haven't met many of them yet but it's good fun as long as you don't hope to have the abundance of skill points you would with high INT, comprehension, educated etc.

There are a few places where this happens but most NPCs are unaffected.

A high charisma is really great if you're doing a lot with companions, and since you won't be scoring any high intelligence dialogue options it could help there as well. However if you have a high charisma then you can't play someone dumb and surly. :)

The funny dialogue isn't as frequent as I would have liked but it's in there and pretty funny. Pipi isn't as dumb as they think she is though. :) You'll have fewer points to spread around when leveling and you won't be able to get the Comprehension or Educated perks. I found the Tag! perk to be valuable later in the game to help with a combat skill. The skill books are more valuable too. My style of play requires my companions be very strong so I go for high Charisma since it affects Companion Nerve. With fewer skill points, I thought I wouldn't be able to get the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle but I've reallocated and think I'll make it. The same thing for the Jury Rigging perk. I like both of those. With some planning, whatever build you choose should work out fine. It's not all that different from my regular game. I go NCR. Good luck!

Do you think I negated additional funny dialogue because I went with high Charisma or do you think I'm seeing all that's in there?

Arcanum was awesome. :) Good to know it's not forgotten.

Sadly no, this was also present in the old Fallout games. I still remember that quote from the Overseer.

"There is a bad place where the bad mutants come from. It is bad, vault is good. Please, go destroy bad place."

PC: "Nungh?"

*sigh* They don't make RPGs like that anymore.
