Arcade Gannon Will No Longer Join Me?!

Post » Mon Feb 21, 2011 10:52 pm

My wife is about to finish F:NV but she wants to complete all the companion quests first. Everyone is done except for Arcade Gannon but she no longer has the dialog option to ask him to join her. She collected all the companions and left them in the Lucky 38 before starting their quests so Arcade did join up with her at one point earlier in the game.

Why did she lose the option to ask him to join her (all other companions still have the option available)? Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks,
JJ

did some searchin' at the Vault wiki..
if you're on xbos/PS3:
After recruiting him then attempting to recruit him while you have another team member, might make the dialog to recruit him without another companion vanish. (ie; if you talk to him at the lucky 38 without a partner after trying to recruit him with one, you will not see the option [I think we should travel together] anymore.) To fix this glitch, remove both companions from your group (both humanoid and non-humanoid) then the option should appear again.

Yeah common bug, fix works. I got this and panicked (I wanted to do Auld Lang Syne) and checked the wiki, worked like a charm. Apparently it has something to do with when you fire other companions but I haven't seen a proper response yet. As grenham the great said, fire all other companions then recruit him (and then your non human one)

Arcade will join you:
* If you're a Confirmed Bachelor and flirt with him.
* If you pass a 75 Speech Check.
* If you have a positive Followers reputation.
* If you have Intelligence of 3 or less.

Arcade will refuse to join you:
* If you have a positive reputation with the Legion.

Thank you both! I can confirm that this problem, as well as the solution, exists on the PC as well as the consoles. She's doing his quest right now.

Oh, I don't know. I rather like having Enclave power armor in the final battle. To say nothing of having the Boomers, the Brotherhood, the NCR, the Rangers, AND the Enclave all backing my play against the Legate's camp. Most of them stayed behind when we reached the last gate, but Cannibal came along, and his minigun chewed the Legate up like a squeak toy in Lupa's mouth. And then he and Cass (took her on after Arcade left; I really love her ending) took down that Legion sniper on the rocks. I pretty much just had to stand around and kill a couple Pretorians.

The Brotherhood, the Enclave, and the NCR, all fighting side by side. Who would've thunk it?

Thanks for this guys, I was having the same problem and couldn't figure it out. Although, I dont understand why you'd have to fire both companions...oh well. Thanks!
