I'd like to know this as well, seeing as how I am on a 'clean up the Legion' campaign.

I killed him because of a bug where lucky 38 bots were attacking me so i went yes man route then my game glitched where i couldn't enter the strip. I was disappointed for the lack of a challenge their fort served up to my guns. The only challenging part was the tent with caesar. I'm not sure of how it effected my game because that game just seemed doomed from the beginning, but the only quest that it said i failed was one i was working for him. Though i only went there out of curiosity before starting a new game, and i had allot of quests completed. Minus the footlocker the loot seemed really disappointing for being a fort; although, i didn't give it the fine tooth comb. Its fun to do with 3 or less people you can accomplish what NCR has been trying to do for years.

I remember doing his little quest where I go into the Lucky 38 "vault" and do whatever down there, I came back up and spoke to Caesar, had Benny crucified, then strapped C4 to every living creature in Caesar's tent, and then... KABOOM!! :nuke:

Only part of Caesar I could find was his leg leaning against his throne... oh, and my game continued to play just fine after that. :user:

I killed him after upgrading Mr. House's robots and everything's been fine for me. Me and Boone showed them how the NCR handles evil.

Maybe you're supposed to kill him during the final battle, but if you did so before hand, I guess it doesn't matter. Heck, Boone said it himself; there's an entire line of succesion, and it would hardly affect the Legion's army as Ceasar didn't really command it -- that monster Lanius was.

I killed him(and everyone at the Fort), and it didn't mess up my game.
