I think with the direction the Fallout games are going, it may eventually be its own genre. Possibly called a survival sim.

More like a Mediocrity Mashup- doing lots of things half-assed while doing very few well.

S.S.E.U pronounced as sow, as in sown togheter. Also the backronym stands for [censored] Software Engineers United.

Fallout has definitely revived (and possibly worn out) the words "post apocalyptic"

As games evolve, so will fallout, as genres evolve, new ones will emerge.
As technology evolves, so will devs capabilities.

As the years go by, the quality of games will decline in an effort to appeal to the mainstream/casual audience.

Honestly, whilst what you said is true, the "evolution" of games isn't going to be as great as most of us would like it to be. :P

Just wait for games like FO:NV developed for the direction Wii, Move, and Kinect are taking us.

Imagine the Fox News specials three to five years from now. If the sides of alien boobs and the ability to kill virtual Arabs with a controller got them upset, wait until you can walk around a wasteland, or similar open world, move your hands to weave spells or lop off heads, or even CARESS alien boobs. They're going to have to hire a whole news team just to devote five days to complaining about it.
