I built a character so i could use explosives and I'm level 17 now and I hardly ever have explosives, its stupid as hell. You can't get anything from any one. New Vegas shopping system svcks balls they never restock or anything, its stupid.
Anyone know locations where I can get explosives?

By just killing Powder Gangers, you can get enough starter explosives there. In one run I got 50+ dynamite.
Another way is to kill melee Fiends, which have a chance to carry grenades.
Thirdly, you can purchase them from various merchants. 25mm and 40mm grenades and their weapons can be obtained from all the major merchants.
Fourth, you can obtain missile launchers and their ammo, also from the merchants.
Lastly, you can trade dog tags with the guy in Cottonwood Cove. 3 dog tags gets you a grenade.

There's like 20 bricks of C4 in the Peak Guardian cave, and one of the vendors stocks a whole bunch of the stuff. I don't remember which one, maybe the ex-NCR chick at the 188 trading post?

c4 being too expensive to use consistently. If I had to use anything in that scale, I'll use Frag mines or Plasma mines, they're still cheaper. And Annabelle solves your explosive problems, mostly.

Obviously nellis is a great place to start, but you're lvl 17 so you've already probably cleared it out. The merchant there is usually pretty consistent.

Shack at black mt., but you've probably already been there by now. Was there a particular explosive you were looking for?

I actually just started an explosive character myself, the only thing I have a hard time trying to stock up on are 40mm nades. I'm only lvl 6 though so I'm sure there show up later after some more questin.

I'm actually surprised your having such a tough time. Usually by lvl 17 merchants are fully stocked.

I'm using the traditional explosive / melee combo, so I don't dip in to the explosives for every battle. Do you have a secondary combat skill? I've never attempted an explosives only build and can see it being very easy to run out of ammunition if it is your only combat skill.

Lack of really good explosive weapons in NV. You can get loads of dynamite from the powder gangers and the boomers but apart from that, there arnt that much explsoive weapons around

just pull the ol' wait three days and restock trick. you'll have plenty of explosives in no time.
