The life & times of Courier 6

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:44 am

I thought I would make a thread for everyone to post the improbable or amazing things they have experienced while playing the game.

I found the Beer Bootlegger's hideout, grabbed like 30 bottles of beer. (Cook-Cook's Fiend Stew FTW)

On my way out, I see some red markers. 2 Cazadors are coming towards me. Me, Boone, and Rex manage to take them out with ease, so, I follow an unfound location marker up the hill. I see about 8+ Cazadors on my radar, and go "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!". Since I'm playing on hardcoe, I go back down the hill, make Boone and Rex wait in the hideout, and go back up. I pull out my grenade rifle, and start raining down explosive death, and manage to frenzy a few of them. Here's where it gets bad. The ones who weren't frenzied pan out, making it hard for me to shoot them. I switch to my lever-action shotgun (with slugs, cowboy, & shotgun surgeon) and manage to frenzy one of them, and then they group back together long enough for me to pull out my grenade rifle and finish them off. At this point, the only cazador is the sole survivor of the frenzy, way up the hil. I go finish him off, ad i find a duffel bag with a set of Combat Armor MK2, a few assorted explosives, and some ammo. Me being a idiot, I press "Take All" on accident. Instead of straitening it out, a try to drop as much weight as possible since by this point I'm-

A. Down to half health
B. Over encumbered by 28 pounds
C. Drunk off my ass (In-game, 3 bottles of whiskey in a row)
D. A short walk away form my companions

So, again, being an idiot, I put the combat armor, and my current armor, a fully repaired suit of Ranger Patrol Armor, in the duffel bag along with the plasma grenades that were in it. I planned to bring Boone back up the mountain and give him the patrol armor and some random junk, while I upgraded to the combat armor.

I fast travel down and... HOLY [censored] [censored]! 5 more Cazadors kill a NPC that is suddenly there for no reason as far as I know, and at this point I am

A. Down to half health
B. Without any armor
C. sleep deprived (again, in-game)
C. Have a pack of Cazadors flying towards me

And, in a panic, I press quicksave. As you can imagine, I die pretty quickly. And then I die again. And again. Then, I manage to finally pull up my pipboy before I die, and, in a moment of universal harmony, I actually have a good idea. In one foul swoop, I

A. Switch to my Grenade Rifle
B. Take Buffout
C. Take Med-X
D. Take Slasher
E. Take Buffout
F. Take Turbo
G. Eat a Fiend Stew
H. Eat a Brahmin Steak
I. Eat a Desert Salad
J. Drink an Atomic Cocktail
K. Pop a Stimpak
L. Pop a Super Stimpak

I proceed to BLOW THOSE [censored]S UP! Proud of my accomplishment, I go down hill and get attacked by some fiends while still buffed, and dispatch them easily. After make the last fiends headasplode, I [censored] LEVEL UP. After distributing my points, I go back up the hill AGAIN, and pick up Boone and Rex, forever more badass for the experience. I hike back to the duffel-bag, grab my armor, and when i'm looking for [censored] to give to boone, I notice I am carrying 48 beers, which I could have DROPPED IN THE FIRST PLACE AND JUST BROUGHT THE [censored] ARMOR DOWN AND NOT BE IN THAT [censored] MESS.

TL;DR - I am a [censored] badass Cazador slayer. Also I am an idiot.

Good idea for a thread, I laughed at the story. But I have not played New Vegas in a while, don't remember to many crazy stories.

I remember when I killed all of Caesar's praetorians with a chainsaw while Boone focused on Caesar himself.
It only took about 20 stimpaks, 8 doctor bags, and a lot of adrenaline.
I was at level 16.

something funny just happened and I felt like I had to post it in this thread:
So Gannon and I were traveling to Fortification Hill when we came across this cute little shack called Coyote Mines or something like that. I decided to go in and loot some medical supplies. When I was done I went back to the door when HOLY [censored] THERE'S A FERAL GHOUL ATTACKING ME, but I kept cool, and I immideately took out my holorifle. I shot the ghoul to the face and he died in one shot. Meltdown perk. I instantly died.
Then I just laughed my ass off.

I was just looking for one of the ranger stations last night for the quest where you have to deliver the new radio codes for the girl at forlorn hope, im going north through some hills when me and Boone take out a group of about four cazadors. No big deal right?
Well we keep traveling north when I see about eight ticks on my radar just freaking out so I already knew what that meant, pull out the gobi and we start picking them off. We end up taking all of them out without taking much damage (I think I only got stung once) and I see a map marker towards the east I haven't discovered yet so we head towords it. Turns out its the beer bootleggers hideout and gues whats at the entrance? More friggin cazadors. Seven of em. We deal with that wave and keep going towords the ranger station when were passing through some hills and all of a sudden in front of us, on either side of the radar, red ticks. And they aint just sittting still either there really moving around. So I think crap i'll just try and sneak out of here because at this point im low on health and dont really want to deal with these things any more when all of a sudden I hear EAT THIS!! There were twelve of them, at once, coming at us from either side. Deathclaws with wings man. I just said screw it whipped out the alien blaster and just started owning the little bastards.
By the time it was over i went back and counted and I think we ended up killing right around twenty two of them, all in the span of about twenty minutes. Did not even use a single stimpack either.

So yeah good times man, good times.
